Most of my life, I did things because I “have to” or out of obligation. There is more satisfaction, contentment, and joy if we choose the things we truly want to do. I’m beginning to incorporate this attitude into my life..
Last month, I had some hesitation when it came to writing my monthly newsletter. Instead of pushing this hesitation aside and diving into writing because “I told myself I will send a newsletter out every month”. This time, I checked in with my hesitation.
I was feeling tired from more than usual weekly commitments. I also didn’t have much time for self-care. My first newsletter was launched nine months ago. I only missed last month’s. So, I went with the gut feeling of giving myself a break – honoring my need for self-kindness and self-acceptance. It was quite liberating to break an old pattern.
On another note, I’m wrapping up an eight week Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens course and organizing a summer course starting on June 14th. You can learn more about this offering here.
I’m also participating in Dr Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry yearlong training, and would like to offer you a free session in order to experience this somatic approach. You can schedule your complimentary session here.
Or if you would like to learn more about my Compassionate Inquiry work or my summer Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens course, you can schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet with me.
